Rev. Joseph Owusu Akwasi Atuahene is an ordained minister with varied experience in the itinerant ministry. Joseph was born to Opanin Emmanuel Yaw Afrifa Atuahene and Madam Agnes Adwoa Kyere at Brosankro near Tepa in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.

Owusu Atuahene started his basic education at the Methodist Primary School, Ejisu – Abenase, but later continued at the Methodist Primary School, Brosankro. He completed his Middle School Leaving Certificate at New Koforidua. He had his secondary education at Konongo Odumase Senior High School-Ashanti. By dint of hard work, he continued his professional studies at the Government Teacher Training College, Berekum. He taught for three years and responded to the call into the ordained ministry.

In 1995, Owusu Atuahene was received by the Methodist Church Ghana to begin his ministerial training at the Trinity College (now Trinity Theological Seminary, Legon, Accra). He completed his training successfully with a diploma in Ministry and an external diploma from the University of Ghana, Legon. He proceeded to receive a bachelor of arts in Theology with Administration at the Christian Service University College in Kumasi. In 2010, he was awarded a Master of Philosophy Degree in Religious Studies from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi.
